Provo Craft Releases Cricut DesignStudio Software for Cricut Machines
 Anaheim, CAFebruary 6, 2008Provo Craft and Novelty, Inc., innovator of the award-winning Cricut cutting system, will showcase the Cricut DesignStudio software at the CHA Winter Convention and Trade Show. This innovative new software allows users to connect their Cricut machines to their personal computers for the first time, using an on-screen cutting mat to make Cricut content their own.
The Cricut DesignStudio software is what our loyal Cricut customers have been waiting for, says Jim Thornton, president and CEO of Provo Craft. The benefits and features of this new software make it an important addition to the existing Cricut products.
With the Cricut DesignStudio software users can explore the complete content of every Cricut cartridge, creating designs with cartridges they may not even own. They can preview content on new cartridges before purchasing, and navigate through the characters by searching for designs by keyword. Cricut characters can then be welded, resized, and reshaped. With their computer connected to either the Cricut Personal Electronic Cutter or the Cricut Expression machine with a USB cable, users can cut designs using the cartridges they currently own.
The Cricut DesignStudio software is currently available for download from Cricut.com or in a bonus pack from authorized Cricut retailers. The bonus pack includes the software disk, one Cricut mouse pad, and one 10-foot Cricut USB cable. The software can be used with Windows XP SP2 or Windows Vista 32-bit.
