The Cricut Deep Cut Blade

Provo Craft has just released an awesome new addition to the Cricut line. It is the Cricut Deep Cut Blade and it allows you to cut deeper, so you are able to cut thicker materials. The Cricut Deep Cut Blade is compatible with all three Cricut Machines. We have received a lot of feedback from people that have purchased the blade and they are having trouble figuring out what surfaces they can cut, how thick and the settings to put their Cricut machine on. I have included a guide that can be used to help you out.
Slice thicker material with ease! A shorter housing provides greater clearance for heavier materials, allowing you to cut material up to 1.5mm thick.

The deep cut blade housing is recommended for:

Magnet (0.035\"/0.80mm thick) with the recommended settings of
Speed 3 (medium)
Pressure 5 (max)
Depth 6
Multi Cut 4

Chipboard (0.059\"/1.50mm thick) with the recommended settings of
Speed 3 (medium)
Pressure 4 (high)
Depth 6
Multi Cut 5

Stamp (0.0415\"/1.05mm thick) with the recommended settings of
Speed 3 (medium)
Pressure 4(high)
Depth 4.6
Multi Cut 1

I, as well as several of my friends would really like an embossing folder that is a stripe....
not the distressed stripe as an ordinary stripe would be very more elegant and formal.
Maybe several widths of stripes would be a good idea as we use the folders for doing greeting cards.
Is there one coming out in the near future?

The Oct 26th post "The Cricut Deep Cut Blade" lists for chipboard "Multi Cut 5" - that's not a valid setting in the Cricut Design Studio - your choices are 1-4. I purchased the deep cut housing and blade and horrible results. The Cricut Expression simply will not let thicker items go through due to the set height of the roller bar that helps guide the mat in/out. I am more than super disappointed with this machine and it's lack of ability to cut thicker items. It doesn't even cut thin chipboard well. Think it's time to seriously look into the Klick-N-Kut for anything thicker than 80 lb paper. If someone has figured out how to cut thick item, please advise. Thanks.

I'm purchasing a Cricut Expression for my wife for Christmas (great guy that I am). It would be helpful to know if the Deep Cutting Blade can cut through Bainbridge Alphamat Acid Free Matboard (for picture framing)...I believe it's 1/16" thick and should be softer than chipboard...just wanted to see if anyone had cut framing mat board before. I'm assuming the Cricut will not cut bevelled cuts for mat framing...can someone please confirm this...thanks!
